Our brother in law's parents own a cabin in Timberlake and they were generous enough to let us stay there this past weekend. We had so much fun we had our friends the Omer family and the Davis family come join us. It was so nice to just be able to get away and enjoy nature for a weekend. The fall leafs looked amazing. Niklas's First Day of Kindergarten

Yes I did say Kindergarten. I feel like just yesterday I was bringing this sweet little boy home from the hospital. Now he is starting Kindergarten. I can't believe it, my little baby isn't so much a baby anymore. He was so excited to start Kindergarten this year. He loves his teacher so much. And he loves that he gets to ride the school bus each day. Sadly mom and dad wouldn't let him ride the bus the first day

Niklas Turns 6

I can't believe that my baby turned 6 this year. This year he decided that he wanted to have a Star Wars themed party and Cory asked that instead of buying a cake that I just make one. Which I feel turned out pretty good considering this was my first home made cake. I still am in awe that he is 6 and not my little baby anymore.

So this year I turned the big 30. Yes I know I know it wasn't as horrible and I was thinking it would be. My sweet husband new that I wanted a new kitchen table for ever. So for my birhtday I was able to get this wonderful and beautiful new table.

Niklas's Played T-Ball this spring

Wow I know it has been awhile since I blogged last. So I decided it would be best to start with Niklas and his T-Ball this last spring. This year he was on the Angels team. To make it even more special Cory was Nik's coach with our neighbor. Niklas had so much fun who knew that my son would love to play baseball so much. Here is a picture of the team. He played so much better this year. I can't believe that next year he will be playing coaches pitch. I love my cute little baseball player.

Niklas' First Day of His Last Year of Preschool

Niklas starte his last year of preschool this week. I can't believe it. He was so excited to go to school this year. Especially since he has two of his friends in his class this year. I hope this school year goes by a little bit slow because I am so not ready for him to start Kindergarten next year. Niklas really loves his preschool teacher Mrs. Sherry and already is learning so much.

Niklas is playing Tee Ball

So we decided to sign Nik up for Tee Ball this year. He is playing for the Grantsville League since Stansbury Park won't let them play until they are 5. Which is crazy but oh well what can you do. Anyway it is a blast watching these cute little boys and girls playing. The first game was Saturday April 17th. It is so funny to watch them play every time the ball was hit all of the team in the out field would chase after the ball. Niklas is loving every minute of it. He is also getting better with every game. I have some pictures that I will post once I get them from my dad and downloaded. I do have to say that Grantsville goes all out for there sports. On opening day after the games they had a parade with all of the teams where they announced all of their names when the team got to a certain point. Then the Mayor of Grantsville threw the opening pitch and then they had the fire department shoot off fireworks. I was very impressed with the Grantsville League. I am so happy that Nik is enjoying the sports next up we will hopefully have him play soccer.

Play Group activity for March 2010

So today we had play group and the activity was going to the Church History Museum and saw the I Am a Child of God portion of the museum. It was pretty cool the kids got to color and play with blocks. The museum had a lot of different things to keep the kids entertained. It was really fun. Niklas had so much fun playing with Adie, Diesson, Paige and Scout. He was so excited to go with his friends. I can't wait for the activity next month. Thanks Leah for planning these activities for us.

Family Vacation March 2010

So after a long time. I decided that I need to update my blog. What a great way to begin with another family vacation to our home away from home Disneyland. We decided to take Niklas to Disneyland since I had been working a lot since the company I work for changed over our system to a new one in February. We went with our friend Adie and Hayley. We had so much fun. This trip to Disneyland tops them all. Niklas was so fun. He actually started to pose for pictures which is really new for him. We took him on basically everything this time except for Tower of Terror and Thunder Mountain. He was finally tall enough to ride the Grizzly Rapids and he loved it. Unfortunately are little friend Hayley didn't. The poor thing got completely soaked I wish I had a picture of her after. We also went on the Ferris Wheel which we have never riden before. On one of the days we were there Adie's mom Debra and sister Toni came. That was really fun to have them join us.
It was pretty busy for being the end of March but what can you do when every sports competions were being played and choir and band groups were there as well. By the end of the trip all the cheerleaders were starting to show up for their cheer competions. Even though it was a little crowded it wasn't to bad. The next time we go to California I am going to have to make sure we take Niklas to the ocean. He has been to California like 11 times and we still haven't been to the ocean. I hope that one day he will be able to forgive me for that. Anyway this was an amazing well needed vacation for our family. Hopefully we will be able to go again soon. But we will have to see.

Niklas Shinner

Niklas unfortunately decided that having bruises on his arms and legs wasn't enough. He was playing with his Geo-tracks last Thursday and was moving a section of track when he slipped on something and fell head first into the coffee table. He didn't have enough time to drop the track and catch his fall and his eyebrow met the table. When we first got a chance to look at the damage (about 30 sec. - 1 min later) the swelling was so huge that you could not see any part of the eye. I got an ice pack on him then we headed to the Bedtime Pediatrics. The doctor said there was no damage to the bone structure (head, nose, etc.), nor any blood vessel ruptures (fluid in the swelling was clear). He was quite the lucky guy to only come out of this with what will end up being a nice shinner. The doctor mentioned that the swelling would go down in a couple of days, but then the area around the eye would develop all sorts of colors. He was right, it was a rainbow of colors. The pictures start after we got home from the pediatrics. Taking a picture of the initial swelling didn't even cross our minds till we got home. The coloring (as of this post) is actually returning to normal. Yeah!

We had an empty box sitting around the other day and Niklas decided it would be a fun thing to play with. It's amazing that even with all his other toys (all over the house) a simple box caught his attention for awhile and was fun for him to play with. There was actually another box (on another day) as well that he was pretending was a car, it's too bad I didn't get a picture of that one.

So this year I decided to can again. I canned peaches, salsa, Tomatoes, and Dill Pickles, Well actually I only canned the peaches and salsa my aunt kind off did the rest for me. I had a really fun time canning my peaches, my wonderful neighbor Celeste wanted to learn how to can peaches and got peaches with me this year. Wednesday was the longest but funnest day I have had. I hope Celeste enjoyed doing peaches to. We first worked on hers and got all of hers done then we decided to work on my Peaches. We got done about 9:00 that Night. We also decided to also invite my other neighbor Melissa to come over and visit. Little did we know that she actually wanted to help. Thanks you guys for a really fun Wednesday. Sorry to Celeste husband for keeping her away all day and night.

Nik's First Day of Preschool

I can't believe it my baby is finally going to school. NO he wasn't sad that he was going to school he was upset with mom for waking him up. Nik started school the day after his birthday party and he was one really tired little boy. Don't worry once he got there he was so excited to be there. He loves school. When we get home from school Nik is so excited to go over the things he learns, He shows me the papers he colors, then when Cory comes home from work Niklas can't wait to show his dad what he has learned. Sometimes I think he would rather be at school then home. He asks everyday if he can go back to Ms. Sherrys and play with his friends there.

We had Niklas Birthday party the Monday we got back from Disneyland. He was so funny when we asked him what kind of party he wanted, He always said that he wanted a Mickey and a Pirate Party. So it was kind of a mix theme. We appreciate our family for coming and celebrating with us. Thanks for all the support you give us. Thanks to all of our friends that came, it really made his day even more special.

This was something fun that happened. We were standing waiting to for the Monarail and the driver asked us if we would like to sit in the front with him. Cory and I can't remember if we ever have been able to sit there before so it was a new experience for us and Niklas. Then once we got to the next stop at Downtown Disney the driver asked if Niklas would like to sit in his chair for a picture of course he did, They also let Niklas honk the horn, He loved it.

Niklas' Birthday at Disneyland

I know it has been awhile since my last post. So now I am going to post about our trip to Disneyland for Niklas birthday. Niklas turned 4 years old this year and I can't believe how big he is getting. We decided to take advantage of my flight benefits and take him to Disenyland for his Birthday. We had so much fun this time around. It was just the three of us, and Niklas was so much better with the characters he would go up and hug them and stand right next to them for pictures.

Donald was one of our favorite characters to see this year. He was so good with the little kids and we don't get to see him very often out and about. Donald didn't have anyone with him directing the crowd so Donald was awesome he would watch and take the children who were being patient and push aside people who were cutting in front of others. I was very impressed.

I had to post this picture of Nik with Eeyore. I love it. Like I said Niklas wasn't shy with any of the Characters this year. He loves the Winnie the Pooh ride at Disneyland. I think besides the Autotopia ride this might be his second favorite. We also decided that since he was big enough we would take him on Splash Mountain. He has never riden that ride before and he really did like it. On Splash Mountain we really didn't get wet accept for Niklas right at the very end a big wave came over and soaked him. It was so funny.

Of course we can't leave out any pictures of Tigger, Nik decided to kinda play around with him he tried to show Tigger his hand shake that Nik and Cory made up.

Here is our little Family. We had so much fun even though it was pretty crowded. I know Niklas will always remember his birthday he spent at Disneyland. I have decided that we won't be going back to Disneyland during the Summer again way to crowded for my taste.

So I decide that it was finally time to blog about our Disneyland trip. We had so much fun with our friends the Christiansen Family and Newell and Colleen. Thank you for coming with us on this trip. It was so exciting to have Niklas tall enough to finally ride more rides. We took him on Space Mountain, Thunder Mountain, Star Tours, Tower of Terror, Soaring Over California, Jelly Fish Drop and The Swings. I can't think of the others right now. We also took him on all the rides he likes. He really loves Autotopia and Buzz Light Year. The weather was so nice it wasn't to hot but it wasn't to cold either. We also spent one day at the San Diego Zoo. Wow I have never been to the Zoo before it was way cool. I totally loved the panda bears and so did Niklas. I will post more pictures so you can all see the fun we had.

Niklas First Dentist Apt

So today Nik had his first Dentist apt. We went to the Dentist this afternoon, at first Niklas didn't want to go but I explained to him that we were going to a Doctor for his teeth to make sure they were all healthy, I also reminded him that they had a train track that he could play with while we waited for his apt. When the hygenist called us back to clean his teeth Nik was a little timid. She showed him everything she was going to do and started cleaning his teeth. We got all the way through brushing his teeth and rinsing then she wanted to floss his teeth and Niklas said no that he was done. The Dentist then came in and looked at Nik's teeth and said that he has no Cavities and that his teeth are really good and healthy. He must get that from his dad. I always had cavities. Hopefully the next time we go Niklas will allow them to finish the cleaning. I guess we will see. Boy how he is growing up so fast. I don't know where the time goes.

SWEETS CANDY FACTORY

So today Niklas and I went with our neighborhood playgroup to Sweets Candy Factory for a tour. It was so fun. When we first got there we had to check in all of our purses and bags and then we had to watch a short film on the factory. Once that was all done they brought out hair nets that we all had to wear. Stupid me I forgot to get pictures of me and Niklas in them. Nik looked so cute with the hairnet on. Oh well. The funny thing is I actually took my camera with me this time. We then went back to where they made the candy it was really interesting to see it all and see how they made the candy. They also had some really good candy that we were able to try. Once the tour was finished they allowed us to buy candy from the gift shop. Which of course I had to get some. Who can blame me it is candy, and who doesn't love candy. Niklas had a lot of fun with all his little friends. Thanks Tami for planning the fun activity for today.

So not much is going on right now. So I haven't blogged in while. Right now I am working alot to get our family to Disneyland. We are way excited to be going. We are going with Cory's mom and dad and my friends Adrian and her family. I can't wait my little family is very ready for a vacation. Niklas is really excited to be going with Grandpa and Grandma Johnson, also he very excited to have Hayley going with us and her parents. We can't wait. Cory is been really good to with me working so much. He has been helping around the house and making sure Niklas gets to bed at a decent time. It has been great. Well other than that we are just getting ready to plant my veggie garden. I am so excited to try and grow a garden this year. I am going to attempt to grow Sugar Snap Peas, Cucumbers, lots of squash, Pumpkins to carve this year, Tomatoes, and bell peppers also Watermelons. We will see how it goes, I will keep you all updated:) Anyway that is about all that is happening with us right now.

WHERE OH WHERE IS SPRING

So I am so ready for spring to get here. I am very tired of the snow. Cory isn't he wishes it would snow more and more because he loves the snow. I on the other hand am ready for the warm weather to come I miss the flowers and the leaves and the green grass and sending the kids outside to play and to take Niklas to the Zoo. Niklas keeps asking to go to the Zoo and I keep telling him we have to wait until it gets warm. So as soon as it is a warm day without any wind I will be taking him to the Zoo. Which will be our first trip to the Zoo this year. I can't wait. Not much else is really happening in my family. I am working alot to earn some money to go to Disneyland in April, with Cory's parents and my friend Adrian and her family. We are anxiously awaiting to go. We are so ready to have a vacation and go someplace warm, See I am totally ready for the warmth and so is Niklas he keeps asking everyday are going to Disneyland this day or are we going to the Zoo today. It is cute but also is kind of crazy. Any way that is my thoughts right now on the weather.

Happy Valentines Day

First off we want to wish everyone a happy Valentines day. Cory and I decided to have our Valenitnes celebration last night so that we can attend our Stake Confrence. We decided that we wanted to go to the Roof Resturant for Valentines. We invited my best friend Adrian and her Husband Brian to join us. We also wanted to invite some of our friends from our neighborhood so we had Thiess and Jamie Lindsay and Wade and Sandra Hadlock join us. It was really fun. I am kind of a dork though because I totally forgot my camera so we don't have any pictures. We had a great view of the temple and we had fun just talking about everything. It was a fun atmosphere as well. The funniest part of the whole evening is when the Hostess had to let us know that the next reservation for our table was checked in and asked if we could leave and go to a place that we could sit and chat. I knew we only had a certain amount of time but we were talking so much and laughing that we didn't pay much to the time. I must say I have never been asked to leave a resturant but it was totally understandable. Cory and I had a blast with all of you. Thank you for joining us on our Valentines Celebration. I also just want to let Cory know that I love and appreciate all that he does for our little family. He is a great man, and had to put up with alot from me. I will always remember this Valentines because it was nice to be out with friends. Again Happy Valentines Day to everyone.

Niklas said the cuttest thing

So yesterday at church Niklas' sunbeam teachers told me about the cutest thing Niklas said during their lesson. They were talking about how Jesus once was baby and did an activity showing each child a picture of themselves as a baby or a toy that they used to play with. Aparently the children started talking about there sisters and how some of their sisters were at home or in a different class. Then Niklas told his class that his sister is in heaven. I just thought it was the cutest thing for him to say. Man how he has grown up. He also was asked to give the closing prayer in primary yesterday. I was so proud of him for getting up and doing it with no problems. We love this little boy so much he makes us laugh all the time and he is so sweet.

I am pleased to announce that Niklas went poo on the potty, unfortunately we did have another pee accident but he is doing so good with the potty trainging. I am so excited. Can't wait until he has finally got it down.

So today I decided that I have had it with diapers. When Nik woke up this morning I put him in underwear and have been making him sit in the bathroom every 20 minutes so far he has been doing pretty good. We have had only one accident all day. Unfortunately he hasn't gone number 2 yet but he has peed three times on the potty. I am so proud of him, but it is just the start. It has been a long struggle just to get him to go to the restroom. I have promised everything from a great big toy to a movie, nothing seemed to work but today I decided from the advice from my neighbor Amy that I would pay Niklas evertime he actually peed and we would put it in his bank and once that was full he could either take the money and buy something at the store or use it in Disneyland. He has decided that he wants to use it in Disneyland, I also told him we won't go to Disneyland until he has had no accidents. Since Disneyland is his favorite place to go it actually has been working. I am very happy with him right now hopefully tonight won't mess things up.

Well I know it has been awhile since my last post. I wanted to wait until something happened. Our ward just split a week ago, and our neighborhood basically became the new ward. We received a call from our bishop that he wanted to see us. We went on Wednesday evening which he then proceeded to give us our new calling. We have been called as the Activites Chairmans. We are very excited but also very nervous. Having to plan activities for your ward is a whole lot different than planning things to do with your friends. So now I am asking all of you for ideas, we need to plan a family activity in the next month to help us get to know the families in our ward. So if you have any fun activities that would help us please let us know. The beginning of the year was also new for Niklas as he is now a Sunbeam. He loves it, the first Sunday in sunbeams he had a little bit of a hard time going but now he goes straight to class with no problems. We also are now going to church in our brand new building which is totally awesome. It will be nice when the weather turns warmer in the spring and summer and just walk to church since it is around the block. Others in the area have commented the same. Thus instead people driving to church we will need to have designated stroller parking areas (lol). I love that all the classrooms now have windows, it makes it a lot easier to check on your child to see how they are doing in class. Well again if you have any ideas for us we are totally open for help.

So it has been awhile since I have updated my blog. So I will just let you a little of what has been going on with us. Not much really has happened we have been busy just getting ready for Christmas. For awhile I wasn't really in the Christmas Spirit this year, but as the snow has come and it is getting closer I can't wait. Niklas is soooo excited he talks all the time about how Santa is going to bring him toys, and of course he is asking for everything in the world that he sees. I was so pleased this year that when he saw Santa at our Ward Christmas Breakfast this year he was excited to sit on his lap. I was sure that once we got up to see him he wouldn't sit on Santa's lap just like the years before. To my suprise he got right up in Santa's lap and said Santa I want toys and a helmet. Ever since Cory started taking Niklas to the U of U football games Niklas has been asking for a helmet. It was so cute. But stupid me I totally forgot to take the camera so unfortunately there is no picture of the experience. We are so excited to see Niklas expression on Christmas morning. We hope all of you have a good and safe Holiday Season

So we decided to have our family pictures done this fall. It has been awhile since we had them taken. I asked my dad if he could do the pictures for us this year. I have to say I think they turned out really good. Here are some of my favorites.

Here is Cory and I. This is really my most favorite because Cory is so good lucking. He photographs so well. He doesn't think so but I sure do.

We decided to have our pictures taken at the Great Salt Lake at Black rock. It was really fun and they turned out great. Niklas coroporated very well considering he is only 3.

This is my other favorite pic of our little family. Now I get to have the fun of picking the photograph that will be displaying in our home. I must say that isn't going to be an easy decision. I really would like to thank my dad for doing these for us. I also want him to know that we are very pleased and that he did an excellent job considering he was very nervous. We love you dad and thanks again for making these memories for us.

Twilight the Movie

So I went and saw Twilight on Saturday night with Adie. We first went to our favorite place to eat when we go to a movie Chick Fila, they have the best chicken ever. Then we went to the District in South Jordan for the 8:00 pm showing of Twilight. I had talked to my mom earlier in the day to see if she liked Twilight and she told me not to go with any expectations, which I already wasn't planning on doing that because the movies are never as good as the books. I must say that I totally loved it I am actually going with a neighbor on Tuesday to see it for a 2nd time. Yes I am totally a dork. I loved everyone they chose for the parts. I really liked Alice she was everything I expectated of her. The only thing I didn't really like was the way that Edward was dressed I think that could have been a lot better. I will post some pics of our night at the movies as soon as Adie emails them to me because I am totally forgetful and didn't take my camera. Adie and I also wore our shirts that we wore to the Breaking Dawn party. Yes we are dorks like I said before. We had a blast. I can't believe how many cheered during the movie. Oh yeah and I was way excited to see the trailer for Harry Potter can't wait . I can't wait for New Moon to come out in a movie now. I really hope that they will be able to make all the rest of the Twilight series into movies. Anyway So that is about it on the movie. I will just say it one more time I LOVED THE MOVIE TWILIGHT and I will probably see it more than twice.

So I decided that it was time to blog again. Not much has really been going on with our little family. We had a really good Halloween it was fun to take Nik around the neighborhood and to our wards trunk or treat. We had Brian and Adie over for Halloween, I made broccoli cheese soup and we had bread bowls. It is a tradition that we started I think a year or two ago. Then we watch a scary movie this year we watched Watcher in the Woods why the kids watched the new Tinkerbell Movie. Nik is funny he likes all the princess movies. Maybe it is because all the guys get the girl in the end I don't really know. Anyway we are now excited for the Thanksgiving and Christmas Holidays coming just around the corner. We are way excited for Christmas because as Niklas gets older the more he gets excited. Every time he see an advertisement for a toy he says I want that then he says I will ask Santa. It is way to cute. I am looking forward to next weekend first off because it is the U of U BYU football game. Go U can't wait for that win. Also I am way more excited to go see Twilight. Yes I am one of those fanatics. I was hoping to go to the opening movie but I couldn't get anyone to go with me, so now I will be going Saturday night with Adie. I can't wait!!!!! I am pretty sure I will probably go see that a couple of times just like I saw Hairspray I think like three or four times. I know I am totally crazy. Then the next week we will be going to my Dad and Moms for Thanksgiving with my whole family. I love getting together with all of them. Well hopefully here in the next few days I will be able to post some pictures of Halloween that is if Cory brought home his computer from work.

So I know it has been awhile since my last blog. I must say not much has happened. However I did go to the Angels and Airwaves and the Weezer concert on the 7th of Oct with Adie, and holy cow it was awesome. Of course Angels and Airwaves rocked but I must say that Weezer does an excellent concert. I had such a blast. I will have to post some of the pictures I took. I have decided that Adie and I must look very innocent because it seemed like everybody was getting searched and patted down at the security and we didn't all they did was ask us if we had anything in our pockets and to shake our jackets. The rest of the month has been kind of slow. I do have to announce that my brother and sister in law had there baby and he is way cute this was there second. I am so happy for them. This month we have just been tring to get ready for Halloween which will be really fun this year. Niklas is going to be a pirate which he is so excited about. A Girls Night Out

So last night our little neighborhood had a girls night out. It was so much fun. We went to dinner at the Gateway. There were about 10 of us all together. It was a really good way to get to know one another outside of church.
We talked probably about everything from kids to school. It was nice just be away from the kids. We had Sarah, Michelle, Melissa, Leah, Heather, Crystal, Stacy, Shay and Amy and me. I wish more had been able to come. Hopefully if we do this again the ladies who couldn't make this time will be able to come.
I just have to say thank you to Leah and Tammy for throwing this together. I hope everyone else who was there last night had as much fun as I did.
The resturant that we went to and I am sorry but I can't remember what it was called. Was really good. It wasn't very crowded either. That could have been because it was a Tuesday. Which I think are the best days to do things. Our Server was really good.
I can't wait until we have another night out. I think it is good to do these kind of things. Especially for the dads to have to be home with the kids. It is good quality time for them.

Play Group at Kangaroo Zoo

So yesterday was our play group with our ward, and once a month we do one big activity and this month we all went to Kagaroo Zoo in North Salt Lake. Kangaroo Zoo is a place full of the blow up slides and bouncy rooms. We had so much fun playing with all of Niklas' friends. We went on all of the slides and played on the bouncy one.
Niklas had no fear he went from one to the other without hesitation. Needles to say we most likely will be going back as a family. Niklas really wants to take daddy.
Niklas loved climbing up the ladders to the slides and he had no problem. He and his friend James were totally unseperatable. If one would go someplace the other would follow and they would chase each other through the mazes and up the ladders.
Niklas and I can't wait to go back. Yes it is even fun for the adults to. Because we get to play on the slides. We love Kangaroo Zoo.

My anniversary

I totally forgot to blog about my anniversary. Can you believe it Cory and I celebrated our 7th anniversary this month. I can't believe it has been so long. Were does the time go. Our anniversary happened to be on a Sunday this year so we didn't go out until the Monday, I do have to give alot of thanks to my parents for watching Nik for us so that we could go to dinner. Cory took Monday off and we decided to take Niklas to the zoo. It was really fun. We then took Nik to my mom and dads. Cory and I decided then that we would go to Tepanyaki Japanese Steak house. If you haven't been it is really good. Usually Cory and I go to the roof, but this year was a little crazy. So we ended up going to dinner just the two of us which doesn't happen very often. We had so much fun. It is good to have some adult time. Unfortunately though as the night went on I did get sick. So as soon as we were done with dinner we headed straight to my parents to pick up Niklas. I felt horrid. Cory and I then went home and I went right to bed. What a way to end a great day and night with my two favorite guys. I know Niklas had a blast and his grandparents because it was really hard to get him to leave. Also the next day all he could talk about was how much he loves grandpa and grandma, which is a first considering he won't even tell us that he loves us very often. Every time we ask him if he loves us and his grandparents he usually says no I love my Hayley. ( For those of you who don't know who Hayley is she is my friend Adie's daughter who is 2 months older than Nik) of course how can you be affended by that, especially when is so sweet about it.

Putting in our Yard Yea! About time

So for some of you, you already know that we have our yard in. But for the rest this is new to you. We are so excited to have our yard in. It was alot of work for Cory. Especially when you have a little helper. Niklas had a blast helping Cory with the yard from putting the dirt into the wheel barrel. It was fun. Cory then decided to go and rent a little bobcat. It was way to funny to watch him actually drive it.
But what can I say it made all the difference in the world. We were able to move that dirt in half the time. We also let Niklas have a ride in the bobcat. Unfortunately I forgot to get the camera for that. But he had a blast. He loved to watch Cory move the dirt in the bobcat.
Until we got our sod, this is how Niklas always looked when he was helping. Lets just say that Niklas got really sick of baths. But isn't he so cute. Especially when he has dirt all over his face.

But again Niklas can't stop helping. He tried to so hard to lift the sod off the palets and lay it with the older boys. We had lots of neighbors come and help and we appreciated it so much. Even one of Cory's 11 year old scouts came and helped. I guess he really wanted the service credit. We are so happy to finally have it all finished. I have to say that Cory did way more work in the yard than I did. But it has now cut down on the dirt in our house. We can now let Oreo out and not have to worry about mud. Which is wonderful. Pretty soon we will have the rest of our yard finished.

Bottling Peaches and making bread

It has a been a long time since I haved blogged I am sorry. But here it goes. So I decided to try and save us some money and I am now making my own whole wheat bread. My first time making the bread wasn't that great the bread was really over done but sweet Cory said that it tasted really good and seems to be really supportive of my attempt. Then I decided that I was going to buy some peaches this year from a lady in our ward. I didn't want to make freezer jam considering that I still have plenty if anyone wants any from last year. So I decided to learn how to bottle. My Aunt came over and taught me how. So now I have 11 bottles of peaches. They are pretty good I must say so myself.
My next attempt at bottling is going to be making my own dill pickles. I hope I can handle that. But with how prices are going up I am trying to become more of a home maker. i am hoping that next year I will be able to get my garden planted then I will grow some of the vegetables that I want. I do have to say though I do have tomatoe plants and all of my tomatoes are starting to turn red. They are really good. So I hope you all enjoy my experience of bottling my peaches and making bread.

Ok Ok Ok finally after all the complaining about not having the disneyland pics posted here are the ones that I think are the cutest. Yes Niklas was the only boy.
I think this is the only one that all three were finally looking at us to take the picture. It took about three tries.
and here we are with eeyore and winnie the pooh these are unfortunately the only characters we have pictures of this time because it was so busy as I said before never again am I going in the summer to disneyland.
and here are the kids again driving a car in toon towne of course Niklas thinks that he has to always be the one driving. I hope all of you are now happy that I have pictures on my blog.

I decided that I need to blog about my sons 3rd birthday. Yes can you believe it Niklas is 3 years old. Where does the time go. Niklas had a great birthday we invited everyone to his party it seems. We had most of our family and friends at our house to celebrate with us. We also had some of Niks friends there as well. It was kind of a crazy day to start out. I had my cousin Karie's bridal shower that morning which was really fun to see my extended family. And Cory had Nik at a Father and Sons camp out. Which from what I get they had a blast. After the shower I had to hurry home to get ready for Nik's party. But before I could go home I had to stop and get the balloons and also the cute cake, that I let Niklas pick out.

Then I had to finish wrapping all of Niks gifts from me and Cory. Needless to say it still all turned out ok. Niklas had a blast with all of his friends and family here. He got lots of toys and clothes. His grandpa and grandma Johnson got him his bedding for his new big boy bed that Cory and I got him for his birthday. I have to say that his favorite gifts that he got are the Cozy Coupe Car that his grandma and grandpa Hill gave him. He wanted nothing else after opening that gift. He even cried when I made him open the rest of the gifts.

We then sang happy birthday to him after all the gifts were open and had cake and ice cream. After everyone was gone we took Niklas out to dinner at Wingers with our friends Adie and Brian and of course Nik's friend and their daughter Hayley. After dinner we came back to our house and watched a movie while the kids played with all of Niks new toys. I hope they had fun because I know that we sure did.

I want to thank everyone who was able to come I know it meant alot to our little family. Mindi I know you would have been here. But you needed to be at your Grandpas 80th birthday. Which I consider very important. We will get together soon. I still can't believe that my baby is 3 it makes me sad to think that in 2-3 years he will be starting Kindergarten. I have to say that scares me to death. But I guess I will get used to the idea. Ok maybe not.

I decided that I need to blog about my trip to Disneyland this week. It was so much fun. I went with just a whole bunch of girls and 3 of us had kids so we of course had to take them with us. It was great just being with the girls for once and no husbands. We left on Tuesday morning and went straight to Disneyland. I finally got my annual pass there so that I don't have to buy park hopper passes any longer which is great. We first went over to California Adventures and rode the I think it is called the Bear River and Tower of Terror. We saw Mr Incredible and Elastic Girl or Mrs Incredible in California Adventures unfortunately I didn't get any pics of them. We then went to our hotel and then went back to Disneyland and had dinner at a pretty good resturant in Disneyland we got a lot of food for a pretty good price, then I took Niklas on the rocket ships and then of course the Buzz Lightyear Ride which is his favorite. We also saw a little bit of Fantasia show that evening after getting off the Haunted mansion. We then went and rode Space mountain. I have to say I really love the parent swap option that they give you at Disneyland. I will however probably never go to Disneyland again during the summer. It was so crowded that I had a really hard time even pushing my stroller through the crowds and I am totally not one for the big crowds. I would rather go during the off season when hardly anyone else goes. I don't even care if I go when it is raining. I actually prefered the rainy season because people stay away. But I will admit that even though it was crowded I did have a blast. As soon as I can get my pics downloaded I will add them to the blog so you all can see Nik having a fun. I can't wait to go again. We got home on Thursday morning and I was very glad to be home. I was extremely tired and so was Niklas we slept most of the day. We are so happy to be home.

So I have decided that I need to blog about the BD party at Barnes and Noble. If you are confused by the BD it was the Breaking Dawn release party Friday night. I have to say it was so much fun. Stupid me though I forgot my camera to take pics. Hopefully one of my friends will send them to me. HINT HINT Mindi or Adrian. Then I can post them. We had about a group of 10-15 women and teenagers in our group and we all wore the same Shirts. The shirts were the best ever. Once I get a pic of them I will post. We first went to Mr C's in Jordan Landing around 7:30 pm and we ate lots of samples it was fun. Then we went to Deseret Book to add one person to our already prepaid books. That was at 8:00 pm, then we went over to Barnes and Nobles for the BD Party. What a mad house. It was so crowded but it was a total blast. I would totally do that again. We tried to get on the Fox 13 news but they didn't show are shirts. However everyone loved our shirts. We had twilightmoms.com take pics of our shirts. Also 101.9 the end. I think instead of having a prom dress contast they should have had a T-Shirt contast. I think that our shirts would have totally won. We did leave the party to go get some food. We went over to Jordan Landing got some food. Then around 11:00 we headed back to Barnes and Noble to find the rest of our group. By that time they had kicked everyone out of the store. It was crazy how many people were there. I thought it was great that some of the younger teenagers had their dads there. Then about 11:30 we headed over to Deseret Book so we could get in line. How wonderful is that we went with some teenagers who didn't mind getting in line for us. It was so much fun. We all got our books and then of course raced home so that we could start reading them. I got home around 1:00 in the morning and went straight to my room and started reading the book. Unfortunately my husband then came to bed after playing the XBox around 2:00 a.m and told me that I need to put the book away so that I could get some sleep before I worked at 4:00 a.m. So I finished the chapter I was on and went to bed. I did read all day on Saturday and then finally at 11:00 in the morning on Sunday I had finished the book. I have to say this is my Favorite out of the 4 books that she wrote. Don't get me wrong I really like all of them. For heaven sake I got alot of my other friends to read them and now they are addicts like me. But I really liked how this one just flowed and never stopped. I can't wait for the movie to come in December. And yes I will be one of those crazy people in my awesome T-Shirt at the 12:00 am showing. Hopefully others will want to come to. I think that about sums up my Friday- Sunday morning. I had a blast. I hope everyone else we were with did as well.

Cory and I have been married 7 years this September. We have one little boy who can you believe is going to be 3 years old on August 23rd. We sold our home in West Jordan over 2 years ago and built a home in Stansbury Park. We have lived in our new home now for almost a year. We moved in on our anniversary last year. I think that is a great anniversary gift. We love our new home and are making great friends out here.
